The release of the Tesla Cybertruck just may be the next most highly anticipated automobile release. Having been revealed by Tesla Inc.’s CEO Elon Musk three years ago in 2019, the Tesla Cybertruck has been at the forefront of all of our minds. But when is the Tesla Cybertruck coming out? The launch date keeps getting pushed back and so far has been pushed back three times.

Well, at the moment, even Tesla themselves may not even know the answer. Let’s break down the past promises of the Tesla Cybertruck’s release date and try to answer the question "Will the Tesla Cybertruck ever come out?".

The First Promised Release Date

Tesla first promised that the Cybertruck would come out at the end of 2021. The reasoning behind this initial delay was that there would not be enough flexibility in Tesla’s production schedule to accommodate a new release and continue to meet the demand of their already released cars that are on the market. The long and short of it was, in order to make Tesla Cybertrucks, Tesla would not be able to make its other fan-favorite models.

The Second Promised Release Date

The second promised release date for the Tesla Cybertruck was the end of 2022. Now, while it isn’t yet the end of the year, we now know that this will unfortunately not be the production date for the Tesla Cybertruck. This production deadline was missed with the same reasoning as the first production date.

The Third (and hopefully final) Promised Release Date

In January 2022, Elon Musk announced that the production of the Cybertruck would miss its most recent scheduled production date of late 2022. The Cybertruck is still in pre-production, and the Cybertruck might begin production in mid-2023 as long as Tesla completes its checklist this year. The release date would likely be the end of 2023 now.

We also began seeing videos of the newly designed cyber truck being tested in California and Texas.

Cybertruck Colors

From what we know, the Tesla Cybertruck will only come in one color. Elon Musk previously revealed that his engineering team's preferred material for the Cybertruck is high quality 300 series stainless steel. The Tesla Cybertruck team picked a stainless steel alloy for the Cybertruck exoskeleton because it is corrosion resistant, robust, and inexpensive.

So to further drive down the cost, Elon has noted that there wuld be no neeed for a factory paint job, meaning that the Tesla Cybertruck will come in only one color. stainless steel. However customers are free to wrap (or paint) their Cyber trucks in what ever color or pattern they choose, leading one such customer to tweet Elon about the possibility of a matte black Cybertruck Telsa.
